A Summary of Our Services:
NEW CUSTOMERS: We have a distinctive way of managing our new customers. When you initially contact us we will take time over the phone to develop an understanding of you, your piano and your musical needs. Due to the heavy demand for our services, we are only able to handle a portion of our new customer requests. Depending upon your circumstances, we may suggest that you consider allowing us to refer another local tuner/technician to provide your piano service needs.
Our policy is to recommend an extended visit ($300) to first time customers. This policy allows the time and resources to provide our best services for your instrument and to establish a program for future care. Previous customers who have not had their instrument serviced by us in over 24 months are also recommended for the extended visit.
ROUTINE VISIT: ($180.) This is the most common maintenance and
is intended to meet the needs of regularly serviced instruments. A routine
visit includes an A440 tuning and minor voicing/regulation corrections in
order to keep your piano at factory specification. Depending upon the performance
expectations, instruments require 1 to 4 routine visits per year in order
to be properly maintained.
EXTENDED VISIT: ($300.) Designed to be a more comprehensive service,
allowing extra time and parts/materials as needed in order to reestablish
a piano to good working order. An example of an extended visit would include
a routine visit and adding the opportunity for pitch raising, interior cleaning,
minor repairs, insurance/tax appraisals, or more extensive refinements,
to best suit the piano and owner's particular musical needs. This service
is suggested for new customers, pianos that have been moved or have been
dormant for more than one year.
REPAIR: Offered on an as needed, individual basis. It can vary
from minor music desk or broken string repair, to full action replacement
or water damage issues.
RECONDITIONING: A process that allows worn, or long neglected
instruments to be the best they can be. It involves a thorough cleaning,
regulation and repair of the piano, using original parts to maintain historical
value or for economic considerations. This procedure requires several visits
and often portions of the piano must be removed from the premises for shop
work.
REBUILDING & RESTORATION: The most comprehensive services. A full
rebuilding involves replacing action parts, pinblock, strings, and other
components no longer in good working order with new parts. Rebuilding strives
to return pianos to "new" condition and requires the piano be
brought to the shop for 2 - 4 months. Restoration intends to reclaim the
original appearance and musical response of classic, antique or art case
instruments using both meticulous reconditioning and discerning rebuilding.
OTHER SERVICES AND ACCESSORIES:
MUTE RAILS: An after market practice rail can be installed into vertical
pianos allowing for very quiet practicing. It is ideal for situations where
late night playing is desired or for pianists living in apartments. The
installation does not affect the touch of the instrument and when turned
off, leaves the piano in its normal play mode.
PIANO LOCKS: This security feature locks the fallboard closed with a
key removing access to keyboard. It is installed under the keybed of both
upright and grand pianos.
CLIMATE CONTROL: Dedicated climate control systems are available for
situations where the room conditions are unfavorable for pianos and cannot
be economically corrected. These units vary in features and price with the
best systems providing year-round balance of relative humidity.
